TOMMY Smith looks set to stay at Brentford for the rest of his loan deal.

Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane had hinted last month that the young defender could be on his way back to Portman Road.

But the Irishman has given Smith the green light to stay at Griffin Park until after the clash with Exeter City on April 5.

And with a hectic schedule of eight games in the next four weeks, the news is a major boost to Bees boss Andy Scott .

Smith said: "Roy's happy for me to stay until my loan's up, then I'll have the last month of the season at Ipswich. He's keen to see how I've improved."
