Charlie Ide's transfer to Grays Atheltic has been put on ice after the player jetted off on holiday before completing a medical.

The fallen Brentford starlet had agreed a one-year deal with the Blue Square Premier side after being told he was surplus to requirements by Bees boss Andy Scott.

But the Essex-based side will have to wait at least a fortnight for the deal to be rubber stamped until Ide returns.

The 20-year-old struggled with a groin injury last season, and was shipped out on loan to Lewes for the second half of the campaign.

He made 45 starts during his time at Griffin Park, scoring eight goals.
