Barnet will be hoping striker Jake Hyde will return to fire them through to the FA Trophy third round, writes Josh Ilan
Hyde, who has been absent in the past few months through injury, looks set to return this Saturday when Barnet face Grimsby Town at home in the second round.
The game will be a step too far for fellow strikers Harry Crawford, Dani Lopez and Marciano Mengerink, with the former two expected to return within the next fortnight.
But there is some more good news for the Bees on the injury front.
Left-back Elliott Johnson is set to return after a couple of weeks away, while the same applies to versatile winger Mauro Vilhete and defender Anthony Acheampong.
Should the game be a draw after 90 minutes, instead of going straight to a replay, there will be 30 minutes of extra-time.
If neither teams fails to get a winner after this, then the game will go to a replay.
Winger Luke Gambin insists the team will be taking the tournament seriously.
He said: “I’ll hopefully get back on the scoresheet. It’s going to be a tough game, but we’re looking forward to it.
“If we win this game, it is three more games until we get to Wembley so the boys are buzzing and we want to do the best we can.”
Barnet’s joint head-coach Ulrich Landvreugd added it was a chance to avenge their 2-1 defeat away to Grimsby last month.
He added: “We definitely want revenge on them. We need the same attitude we have played with in the last couple of weeks and, if we do this, we should hopefully win.”
