MARK Hughes is confident QPR will beat the drop now they've addressed their goalscoring problems.

Sparky's Fulham side were struggling at the wrong end of the table at the same stage last year as they struggled to cope without the injured Bobby Zamora .

However, the Whites went on to finish eighth after the England frontman returned for the second half of the season.

And Hughes admits he can see similarities between the two sides as Rangers bid to escape relegation.

He told the Chronicle: “The team here has performed well, but [previously] we've had a problem of putting the ball in the net.

“It's comparable in that respect because I was struggling for a striker at Fulham. Here we've got a situation where we had played reasonably well but didn't have the cutting edge which you need in the Premier League. There are similarities."
