QPR have completed the signing of Lazio striker Djibril Cisse .

The former Liverpool frontman passed a medical earlier today and has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road .

Cisse will go straight into the squad for tomorrow night's trip to Aston Vila, subject to the club receiving international clearance for the 30-year-old Frenchman.

Rangers boss Mark Hughes had made a new frontman his number one priority in the January transfer window.

The Welshman saw a move for Brazilian Henrique fall through, but he's delighted he's finally landed Cisse - a player he tried to sign while in charge of Manchester City.

Sparky said: “His goal record is there for everyone to see. He's scored goals wherever he's played.

"He was desperate to come here once we showed our interest in him and we can't wait to get the best out of him."
