There’s less than a month to go before FIFA 17 is released by EA Sports and anticipation is building ahead of the big day.

The game, which is this year powered by the acclaimed Frostbite engine for added realism, is due out in the UK on September 29.

Player ratings have already been leaked as gamers eagerly seek out every piece of information they can about latest installment of the popular franchise.

We know all about the game’s new features and are particularly looking forward to getting into The Journey, which acts as FIFA 17’s new career mode.

But there’s nothing quite like getting your hands on the game itself - and that moment is coming sooner than you might think.

If you were lucky enough to nab yourself an invitation to the closed beta, you’ll probably be too busy playing that right now to be reading this article.

However, those who have been waiting patiently for their first FIFA session need not fear. You will be able to play the game before its official release.

Ultra-realistic: Chelsea stars in FIFA 17
New for this year: The Journey

EA Sports showcased a demo at popular gaming event Gamescom held in Cologne and will be available to download via the Xbox Marketplace and PayStation Store between Friday September 9 and Tuesday September 13.

Luckily for Chelsea fans, the Blues , who have featured heavily in FIFA’s advertising campaign, will reportedly be a playable team in the taster.

Manchester United and Manchester City will also feature, along with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Juventus and more.

Owners of either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will also get a chance to test out the game's all new Journey mode, where you star as Alex Hunter, a young Premier League prospect.

His success will then be affected by your decisions both on and off the pitch.

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has acted as "authenticity consultants" on this game mode in the hope of making it as realistic as possible.
