Brentford fans will be keeping half an eye on how Newcastle are faring at Birmingham during the Bees' FA Cup clash with Eastleigh with the scheduling of their home game with the Magpies at stake.

The west Londoners are currently set to face Rafa Benitez's side on Monday January 16 with the game being shown live on Sky Sports.

However, third round replays are scheduled for that week so would take precedent over the Championship meeting.

If Brentford's tie with Eastleigh reaches a conclusion on Saturday and there is a similar story from St Andrews then the game would still be shown on the Monday.

If the Bees or Magpies draw then the match would switch back to Saturday January 14.

Should Dean Smith's side progress against the National League outfit, then their trip to Sheffield Wednesday, currently scheduled for January 28, will be postponed.

This meeting would also be rearranged were the Owls to progress against Middlesbrough on Sunday even in the event of the Bees crashing out at the third round stage for the third successive year.
