Hogan Ephraim believes it will take time for QPR to reap the benefits of Paulo Sousa's arrival as manager.

The Rs winger got the former Portuguese international off to a winning start at Loftus Road, by laying on the second of Dexter Blackstock's double in the 2-1 victory over Championship strugglers Charlton.

But while pleased with the three points, Ephraim says it was only a taste of what's to come.

He said: "We could have played better but it was a new shape we played under a new manager who we are still getting used to.

"The manager took his first training session on Monday, which was very tactical as you might expect.

"We've got to learn that side of the game as we're not as tactically aware as he is, because he played at the highest level for God knows how many years.

"But the Charlton game was a good insight, and I thought we showed glimpses of what we can do."
