Ryan Woods has paid tribute to Dean Smith and hailed the Brentford head coach as a 'nice guy to have around the place'.
The Bees boss has an excellent relationship with his squad and the midfielder described him as someone who is very approachable.
And Woods believes that fans can see the performances show how much the Brentford squad are playing for him.
The midfielder said: “He's just generally a good guy and a nice guy to have around the place. He's very approachable and someone you can talk to about other things away from football and he's a good man motivator in my opinion.
“All the lads like him and we get on really well and I think you can see in the performances, although we didn't get the results. We've lost one in 11 so we must be doing something right.”
Woods added: “It's always good when a manager wants to have a laugh as well and you know you can have a laugh with him. He's a good guy to have around and he's very approachable.”
The football Brentford play is also enjoyable to watch and the players have fun while playing as well.
“We like the way we play football and it's important you buy into the way the manager wants to play. It's a happy camp,” he explained.
“It's important and it's horses for courses I think. You only have to look at the technical ability of the lads here and you have to have those players to play that style of football.”
The Brentford squad joke that Woods is Smith's son, although the midfielder denies they look similar.
He said, smiling: "Not particularly, no. There are some similarities, like the hair and I get that off the lads as you've heard. I wouldn't say so personally."
