HEIDAR Helguson is ahead of schedule in his battle to overcome a niggling groin injury.
The QPR striker has been sidelined since the FA Cup defeat to Chelsea almost two months.
However, the 34-year-old stepped up his recovery at the club's Harlington training base this morning, and boss Mark Hughes is hopeful of having the nine-goal frontman back for the run-in.
He said: “Heidar joined in with the warm-up for the first time today.
“He's ahead of schedule. He still needs a couple of weeks of training and a couple of games under his belt.”
