Phil Babb is hopeful Hayes & Yeading will have the opportunity to go for their first win of 2014 against Farnborough tonight.

The United manager has only been able to lead his side out into three games since the turn of the year due to the appalling weather.

It has meant the club has yet to put three points on the board since the 3-0 home victory over Tonbridge Angels on December 7.

All of these postponements are leaving Babb’s side, who had no game on Saturday, with a congested end to the campaign.

However, the former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland defender was last night crossing his fingers for some dry weather ahead of this evening’s kick-off.

“You’ve just got to try and keep the boys ticking over,” Babb said.

“Hopefully the game goes ahead. There was supposed to be some heavy rain coming in so that might have some impact on the pitch.

“We’ll just prepare as normal for the game. The players have been told what time to report to the ground for the match, so we’ll see what happens.”

Hayes & Yeading sit three points clear of the Conference South relegation places. Tonight’s visitors, Farnborough, are perched one place above them in the table.
