HARROW Borough are remaining calm despite the sub-zero weather conditions threatening to hinder their chances of escaping relegation from the Ryman Premier League.

They were hoping to put Saturday's 4-1 home drubbing at the hands of Harlow Town behind them against Sutton United on Tuesday, but the heavy snow and freezing temperatures left the Earlsmead pitch unplayable.

And with Saturday's trip to Canvey Island also looking in doubt, not to mention a likely postponement next Tuesday due to AFC Hornchurch's County

Cup involvement, Harrow could be left playing catch up and trying to fit games into what is an already hectic schedule. They might not be able to kick a ball in anger in the league until the Valentine's Day trip to Boreham Wood, and how manager David Howell would dearly love some points

"It is a little bit worrying now," he said. "But as the old adage goes, we've got to take each game as it comes.

"I would rather be in this position (19th) with games in hand rather than some of the teams around us who have played more games than us."

Canvey crushed Harrow 4-2 at Earlsmead earlier in the season while Saturday will be the first time Borough have visited Park Lane since 2004, when Steve Dogbe's strike earned the reds a 1-1 draw, a good result against a side who went on to with the Ryman Premier title that season.

"Sutton was called off while while Canvey has got to be doubtful," added Howell. "I've also been told our game against AFC Hornchurch next Tuesday is off as they are involved in the County Cup, which takes precedent."
