Harrow Borough boss Dave Anderson will field a strong side in the Middlesex Senior Cup at Northwood tonight as he looks to build on the weekend’s win.

The Reds defeated Kingstonian 1-0 on Saturday, their first league win in six, but the manager has no intention of resting any players for the second round clash.

“I’m going to play a strong side,” he said. “I want to try and win the game, I’d like to follow up our win from Saturday.

“It’s absolutely about momentum, we’re just trying to win again. We don’t have a game at the weekend and then we go into Tuesday which is a big fixture against Bury Town, so I just want to try and win the game tonight.”

The opposition are a club the Northern Irishman knows well, having previously managed at Northwood Park, and he is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces.

“I managed there for a year and I know the people,” he said. “I get on well with the chairman and I know Mark Burgess (now manager) and Jim Burgess very well, they played for me, so it won’t be easy, it never is.”

Anderson does have a number of injury concerns ahead of the game though, and won’t be willing to take any risks,.

“Jake Gilbert came off on Saturday and he had stitches in his shin so we’re not going to take any chances with him,” said the manager.

“Michael Barima is still out injured and won’t be available tonight, Marc Charles-Smith is carrying a niggle so I might rest him, and Nick Salapatas has got tonsillitis so he’ll miss out.

“Anthony Maissiat is available after being out for some time with injury though, so he’ll probably make the bench.”

Meanwhile Northwood are set to be without striker Ismael Ehui who limped off in the league win over Beaconsfield at the weekend.
