Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Alan Devonshire has raided Carshalton Athletic to sign 28 year old midfielder Paul Johnson.

The combative midfielder had a long career with Ashford Town (Middlesex), where he was club captain and made over 250 appearances.

However when previous Ashford boss Mark Butler moved to Carshalton, he made Paul one of his first signings and appointed him club captain.

Johnson's arrival will should fill the gap left by loanee Pat O’Connor’s return to Millwall.

Devonshire has also signed former Carshalton, Chertsey and Farnborough keeper Liam Stone from Bagshot Lea.

The 23 year old has been playing has been training with the club for a few weeks and his impressed enough to be handed a deal.
