Brentford looked set to wrap up a season-long loan deal for Reading keeper Ben Hamer on Friday.

The youngster had a successful loan spell at Griffin Park last season and has already said he is keen to return.

This had been delayed by his failure to sign a new deal at Reading, who said he can come back to Griffin Park once he puts pen to paper.

However, it appears that Bees boss Andy Scott, who has released senior keeper Simon Brown and given youth team stopper Seb Brown a pro contract, will get his man today.

Meanwhile, Bees right-back Craig Pead's move to Port Vale appears to have hit the buffers.

Pead was another on the club's releasesd list, despite making the League Two team of the year.
