Lucas Piazon is hoping to get as many minutes as he can under his belt during his loan spell at Fulham.

The Brazilian, who is on loan from west London neighbours Chelsea, scored on his debut against Bristol City but the Robins hit back to win 2-1 and knock the Whites out of the EFL Cup.

And the 22-year-old forward will be keen to add to his tally and he has been told by Slavisa Jokanovic to work hard and the goals will come.

“I just want to get as many minutes as I can and try to make the best of any opportunity that the gaffer gives me,” Piazon said.

“He's told me to work hard and the opportunity will come. I had a chance to play 90 minutes and it was good to get my first of the season. It was good to play a full game.

“The squad is great. We have a talented group and it's difficult to get in the team. We have to fight for the opportunity and make the best of it.”

Piazon started his career on the wing but last season's loan spell at Reading has seen him shift to the number 10 and he showed his class with a fine headed goal.

He added: “I've played a lot of my career on the wings but at Reading, Brian McDermott talked to me and said he wanted to try me in the number 10.

“I played a few good games in the number 10 position and I kept playing since then. I don't mind playing on the wing or a number 10. I think I can do both.

“Heading is not my best quality. It was my first or second headed goal. It was a good header. I didn't see much as my head was too low so I'll have to see it on the TV.

“I try to make the box, especially when I'm in the number 10 position and try to score goals for the team.”
