Former Fulham, QPR and West Ham United striker Leroy Rosenior has urged wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon to rebuff interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur and stay at Craven Cottage.

Talking to the Daily Star , Rosenior, 52, who has recently turned his hand to football management, believes 16-year-old Sessegnon, who recently came to the public's attention after a brace against Newcastle United, is already the best left-back in the country.

However, Rosenior believes the teenager's talent will be better developed at Fulham and has warned Sessegnon against a move to one of the Premier League's top clubs in the summer.

But Rosenior admits that if the full-back continues to impress it is inevitable Fulham will eventually get an offer they cannot refuse for the Roehampton-born player, who has already made more than 20 first team appearances for the Championship club.

"I think he's the best left-back talent in England, there's no doubt about that,” the former striker told the Daily Star .

"All things being equal, he should stay at Fulham and develop but opportunities come and if Fulham get an offer which is difficult to refuse and it means that he could progress then as long as it's amicable and it's done in the right way then he will move on.

"I'm sorry Fulham fans but this is life. Also, sometimes it allows your football club to move on. When I was a youngster the players would come through and have that ambition to go and better themselves.

Double hero: Ryan Sessegnon scored twice against Newcastle

"It doesn't mean that you think any less of your football club but that's the way it is. Believe me there are lots of Premier League clubs interested in Ryan Sessegnon and that's a fact.

"I think sometimes when you sell a young player and you have a manager like Jokanovic - whose recruitment has been incredible - then you have to trust their judgement. Sometimes you get a left-back and even if he's wonderful player, how much can a left-back affect a game?

"Maybe if you get an experienced left-back for two years that could do a job and get a winger and centre-forward then it makes your squad more rounded. You could lose Ryan and make your squad better."
