Fulham won well at QPR on Saturday - and then four days later sunk without trace to hand Blackburn their first victory in 10 games. Why? Do you agree it's something along these lines?

Blackburn on a Tuesday night is not a west London derby in front of live TV

How much motivation was there for Ewood Park? Not a lot, GWL believes. There was a heroic shift on Saturday in front of 2,800 fans as well as a global audience watching on - but doing it twice in four days was beyond a stuttering side.

Fulham are back in the relegation mire

The difference between Whites and third bottom - Rotherham - is the equivalent of two wins and a draw. A second win in a row at Blackburn would have made it four games and at least a month of Millers winning and Fulham losing to catch up.

The players would have known this before kick-off. No wonder Jokanovic was apoplectic.

They will beat Charlton on Saturday

The silver lining to Tuesday's defeat was even more motivation for Saturday.

A win against the hapless Addicks, and it's going to take one hell of a seismic shift for the south Londoners to catch Fulham, more so than even Rotherham, who now have the impetus Neil Warnock's tenure will bring them.

The ghost of the set piece is still clanking its chains

That second Blackburn goal from Shane Duffy delivered from a free-kick saw it pass two Fuham heads and a despairing Dan Burn before it got to the scorer.

And we thought there was a more solid look to the back four.

Don't you wish Scott Parker was 10 years younger?

One of the architects of Saturday's win can't cope with two full blooded games in such a short space. His absence is always going to be a minus as far as Fulham is concerned.

When he announces his expected retirement at the end of the season, signing the next Parker - or near equivalent - is a must.
