Marcus Bettinelli is delighted with Fulham’s fantastic form after beating Cardiff 2-1 at Craven Cottage.

The Whites' goalkeeper was ruled out for the majority of the season after picking up a freak injury at Hull in August.

The collision with teammate Matt Smith ruled both Cottagers players out for a substantial period, and consigned the keeper to undergo surgery.

Since his return in the 1-1 at Birmingham in March, Slavisa Jokanovic’s men have picked up three consecutive wins, beating MK Dons and Preston North End before Saturday’s victory.

And the 23-year-old was left overwhelmed by his remarkable comeback.

He said: “It’s amazing. I have worked so hard to get back to where I am.

“It was such a freak accident with Matty which I will probably take with me for the rest of my career.

“I’ve worked so hard in the gym with the staff, it was emotional for me against Birmingham and to go four games unbeaten feels amazing.

“I’m just so glad I am a part of it and back playing.”
