Lasse Vigen Christensen is looking to kick on after agreeing a new one year deal at Fulham which sees him stay at the club until the summer of 2018 at the earliest.

The 22-year-old was going into his final year under contract at Craven Cottage but the fear of being released at the end of the campaign has gone.

And he is looking to build on his winning goal against Middlesbrough and establish himself as one of the first names on Slavisa Jokanovic's teamsheet.

He said: “For me, it was about getting that stability as I've had a few seasons where I've been a bit up and down with injuries.

“Now I'm looking to kick on from this now and I'm finally back to the way I was a few years back. I know what I want and what the club wants so it was nice to get that down.”

Fulham are unbeaten going into the final game ahead of the international break and are playing much better than last season.

Slavisa Jokanovic

Christensen was unsure what to put the upturn in form down to but heaped praise on Slavisa Jokanovic for the work he's put in on the training ground.

He added: “It's always hard to put it down to one or two things. The manager has worked hard on us playing as a team now.

“We're all out there working together and getting into a great shape with will make it hard for other teams.

“We've got players that can win games and make something out of nothing. A lot of us that played against Middlesbrough had not played too much that we have a really good squad. It's an exciting time.”

Confidence is high at Craven Cottage and the Fulham squad will believe they can go into the break with another three points at bottom side Blackburn, who have one point from their first four games.

Christensen explained: “The start of the season has been really good for us. We have big belief that we're not going to get beaten and we've been unlucky not to have wins in games we didn't win.

“We're looking to keep that form going into the international break and can have two weeks to get even better.”
