SASCHA Riether will be assessed by a specialist in Germany later today after picking up a hamstring injury in Saturday's west London derby defeat by QPR.

The Fulham defender was withdrawn at the break and replaced by Stephen Kelly as the Whites went down 2-1 at Loftus Road.

Jol was in the dark over the right-back's injury afterwards but the on-loan Cologne man has revealed he will return to his native Germany to find out the full extent of the problem.

It is another blow for boss Jol, who also lost Bryan Ruiz to a hamstring injury recently.

He said: “We have to assess it. The doctor came in and said he couldn't carry on so I had to change it.”
