MARTIN Jol is ready to give the green light for Matthew Briggs to remain at Bristol City – providing he doesn't suffer an injury crisis at Craven Cottage.

The Fulham full-back has made four starts for the Championship club since being brought in on loan.

But his spell at Ashton Gate is due to expire after the trip to Middlesbrough later this month.

However, Whites boss Jol is happy for the 21-year-old to remain with the Robins as long as John Arne Riise stays fit.

"It depends on our situation," the Dutchman told the Chronicle.

"If we have an injury in that position, for example left-back, then I will take Briggs but if not we could extend his loan."
