AARON Hughes is a major doubt for Sunday's clash with Blackpool after suffering a shoulder injury on international duty with Northern Ireland.

The Fulham defender picked up the problem in Friday's 2-1 defeat against Serbia, and has returned to Craven Cottage for treatment.

Boss Nigel Worthington said: "Aaron didn't travel to Belfast with us on Saturday, instead he got a flight to London for a scan on his shoulder and it revealed some damage.

"Fulham are going to let it settle for a few days before seeing if the problem needs some further work."

Meanwhile, Damien Duff has also returned to SW6 after being released by Republic if Ireland chief Giovanni Trapattoni.

The winger was one of five senior players rested for this Tuesday's friendly with Uruguay.
