Fulham midfielder Stefan Johansen joked the only other place you would find the Chris Martin saga replicated is on the video game FIFA 2012.

However, the midfielder did agree it was ‘weird’ a player just having signed a new contract with one club is playing with another until the end of the season.

The long-drawn out tale of whether the Scotland international was coming or going, lasted most of the transfer window, with Fulham refusing to bow to pressure exerted by Derby.

But Johansen believes the man who is set to return to Derby at the end of the season will put his body on the line for the west London version of Whites.

He said: “He’s one of those players that when he’s on the pitch he pushes everything aside.

“It’s not going to be a problem. He’ll be scoring goals for Fulham in the future.

Maybe, you would only find something like this on FIFA 2012 as well.

“He’ll give 100 percent. The group like him as well, and as long he scores goals we’ll be happy.”
