MARTIN Jol is prepared to lose Andy Johnson for nothing in the summer rather than let the striker leave on the cheap during the January transfer window.

Fulham rejected a bid for the former Crystal Palace and Everton frontman from QPR earlier today, while Blackburn Rovers are one of two other clubs also monitoring his situation.

Johnson, who has scored 11 goals in all competitions this season, is out of contract in the summer, and the 30-year-old is yet to agree fresh terms in SW6.

But boss Jol admits he's willing to let Johnson's deal run down rather than search for a replacement.

He said: “If I sell Andy now I'll have to look for somebody else, a second striker.

“I would rather keep him.”
