MARTIN Jol says the ball is in Mark Schwarzer's court over the keeper's Fulham future.

The 40-year-old has been a virtual ever-present this season but is out of contract in the summer.

Schwarzer has been offered fresh terms at Craven Cottage and boss Jol is hopeful the Aussie will extend his stay in SW6.

He said: “We haven't spoken on a regular basis. We made him an offer and are waiting [for an answer].

“If he accepts that, then he will stay. If not, we will have to talk again.”

Jol confirmed he is in the market for a new keeper but poured cold water on speculation linking him with FC Twente's Nikolay Mihaylov .

“There's no truth in that,” Jol added. “Last year we made an approach, like we did with other keepers, but not this year.

“I don't deny we are looking for one because we've got a young keeper Neil Etheridge , who should go on loan.

“[David] Stockdale is already on loan and doesn't want to be the number two, so that could be a little problem.

“We are always looking for a keeper but we will have to wait and see.”
