Rohan Ince has had showdown talks with Fulham’s gaffer when he was told to be 'brave' and fight for a place.

The Brighton loanee has made just two appearances amounting to 57 minutes since he arrived in the January transfer window.

So far, the distant cousin of England legend Paul Ince has been frozen out of defensive midfield by either Chris Baird or Scott Parker.

The 23-year-old could be forgiven for wondering why he swapped the south coast for the Cottage, but Slavisa Jokanovic believes the former Chelsea player can still make an impact in west London.

"I spoke with Rohan, and it’s only what I can tell all the players that is to carry on and fight for a place in the team," the head coach said.

“Fifa rules are very clear. I can only start with 11 and seven players on the bench – the rest go in the stand.

“My squad is 25 players and I need to make the right choice for the club.

“It’s the same rules for Rohan as for another player.

"This is football. A football career is not three days or three weeks.

“He needs to be brave and believe in yourself. So for him as for others, it’s the same.”

Fulham take on Burnley this evening with every chance Ince will again be watching from a distance, with rested Parker ready to spearhead a challenge against the high-flying Clarets.
