Jamie O’Hara has come through a successful trial to become Fulham ’s fifth signing of the summer on a one-year deal.

The left-footed midfielder arrives rejecting terms at Blackpool, where he made 28 appearances last season and was voted player of the year - even though the Seasiders plummeted out of the Championship.

A former Tottenham player, O’Hara made more than 50 appearances for Spurs and scored seven goals, while he also had loan spells at Chesterfield, Millwall, Portsmouth and Wolves.

He joins Ben Pringle, Andy Lonergan, Tom Cairney and Jazz Richards as new boys in white.

O'Hara told the club’s website: “I’ve had a couple of weeks training with the team and I really felt I wanted to get to this club. I’ve loved it, I’ve worked hard and now it’s paid off. I have to thank the manager for giving me the opportunity.”

However, Kit Symons warned the squad at their Algarve training base in Portugal they need to put a shift in now or risk being relegated to the bench or reserves.

Warning: Fulham manager Kit Symons

The gaffer said: “You either reap the reward or pay the price come January. When I took over after seven games (last season) the dynamic wasn't there.

“So we’re setting the bar and planning to raise it, and we’ll have quite a few options. It’s a case of finding out the best one, and then the second best one.”
