FULHAM have ruled out a move for Frank Lampard at the end of the season – even if it would allow the Chelsea legend to stay in west London.

Lampard (pic) is set to make his 600 th appearance for the Blues in the derby at Craven Cottage tonight, but faces an uncertain future with no extended contract on the table waiting back at base along the Fulham Road.

The midfielder, who is also two goals away from the all-time 202 record held by Bobby Tambling, wants to stay in his £10m Chelsea house down the road from the Cottage.

But Whites boss Martin Jol reckons his chances are zero of capturing a player, who though 35 in June, would still command close to £100k-a-week wages.

A major reason, according to the Dutchman, is that Chelsea could well do a U-turn over keeping him.

Jol said: “ He (Lampard) is the most productive midfield players in England in the last 30 or 40 years.

“Everyone would love to have him. He’s fit and is a good character.

“He will have a smile on his face if he listens to Fulham, but I would love to have him.

But it’s hypothetical as he will never play for Fulham.

“He’s a legend - a living legend and he won all the prizes over there. In the end I have a feeling they will keep him.”
