Slavisa Jokanovic knows that the Fulham faithful are hoping for promotion this season but he is not feeling any additional pressure.

The Whites are seen by many as a side that is expected to be finishing in at least the top six and challenging for the title.

Having been seen as a surprise package last season, there is now attention on what Jokanovic is doing at Craven Cottage with their season opener against Norwich on Saturday afternoon.

“Pressure is part of our life and I have pressure to be successful. I have pressure for my team to play better,” he said.

“I have pressure to win the game and everything is normal. It's the same for other coaches in the Championship and around the world.”

Jokanovic may have aired his frustrations about Fulham's recruitment policy but he will certainly be happy to still have Tom Cairney and Ryan Sessegnon at the club, while Tomas Kalas and Lucas Piazon returned to Craven Cottage from Chelsea again this season.

The Serbian added: “I'm happy the club agreed new contracts with Tom Cairney and Ryan Sessegnon.

“I'm happy to have Tomas Kalas and Lucas Piazon back with us. We've signed some players. The transfer window is open until the end of August and we'll look to add more to our squad.

“We must be positive and believe in ourselves. We'll be pushing hard to be successful.

“The final target for half the Championship is to be promoted. It'll depend on a lot of things. We'll know at the end of the season.”
