MARTIN Jol has turned up the heat on Chelsea ahead of Saturday's west London derby.

The Blues have suffered back-to-back defeats going into the game following Saturday's loss at Everton and last night's shock Champions League reverse against Basel.

And Fulham boss Jol has heaped more pressure on their rivals in the build up to the Stamford Bridge clash.

“For Chelsea it's a must-win game against us because they want to be champions,” said the Dutchman.

“I was thinking yesterday if they lost a second game in a week it could be difficult.

“It puts a little bit more pressure on them, but I don't know whether that's an advantage or not.”

Jol came under fire from a section of Fulham fans following last weekend's 1-1 draw with West Brom, which extended their winless streak at Craven Cottage to six games.

But the Whites manager insists they will come good when their summer signings start to click.

He added: “We have good players, but five of the seven new players were not there last week, so it's not easy.

“There are 10 or 11 teams who have not settled, but as soon as we gel together we will be fine.

“Sometimes you have to put things in perspective. We're doing better in this transitional period over the past couple of years than people give us credit for.”
