MARTIN Jol looks set to return for Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac when the transfer window reopens in January.

The Fulham boss was close to wrapping up a loan deal for the French frontman last month on transfer deadline day, only for his club to pull the plug on the deal at the 11 th hour after missing out on the signing of Amauri.

We exclusively revealed earlier this week that Gignac is still keen on a switch to Craven Cottage, and Jol admits he could return for the 25-year-old in the new year.

He said: “We had the player here and thought we would get him on loan, but Marseille decided they needed him back.

“We have established a good relationship with the player and club, so we will see what happens in the future.”
