FULHAM boss Martin Jol reckoned he was a disappointed manager after his side let slip a 3-0 lead to hang on by the skin of their teeth against QPR.

The Dutchman watched his side coast to a comfortable advantage only to allow the neighbours back during a frantic second half.

He said: “There was a bad pass from Sascha Reither, and we gave them a present for 3-1, and then made the mistakes they had made.

“It’s a bit disappointing if you’re winning 3-0 and you hang on at the end.”
Jol (pic) was also critical of the red card shown to Steve Sidwell after the Fulham midfielder clattered into Armand Traore to leave his side a man short for the last 17 minutes.

The manager said: “It was a bit harsh, because it was more about Steve’s momentum than anything else – although I can see the referee’s point of view.”

If the end was a bit too close for comfort, the Fulham coach was still grateful to Dimitar Berbatov for his double strike that sealed Rangers fate early, and admitted the Bulgarian sometimes gave off the appearance of a player ready to lay into his own team.

Jol said: “Sometimes people tell me his body language is not good – and that’s true. But on the other hand he always disappointed with himself because he wants to achieve so much.”
