It’s been stop-start for Stefan Johansen so far - but his Fulham boss is certain he knows where the former Celtic player will end up.

The Norway international got 45 minutes in the 4-0 nightmare against Bristol City on Saturday, and as GetWestLondon suggested, was a replacement for Scott Parker.

Inside info from Scotland claims Johansen will be most effective as a third striker arriving from midfield.

New boss Slavisa Jokanovic insists the 25-year-old is also a defensive midfielder, where he finished his Celtic career.

“The position where I used him where he has played many games in a 4-3-3 as the more offensive midfielder,” the head coach said.

Battle: Stefan Johansen (R) closes down Aaron Wilbraham of Bristol City

“This is his natural position, but he has enough quality and experience that he can adapt himself in our style.”

“If we play two midfielders in front of the defence he can be one of these or he can be more offensive.

"I don’t want Stefan to be confused with the change that I made in the Birmingham game (where he was subbed after 32 minutes).

“I have explained this to him and he understands.

“He is a big boy and this situation didn’t affect him.

"We are a big squad and he is trying to prove himself and to offer his best version in the future.”
