Fulham will extend the loan deal for Jazz Richards after the Swansea right-back justified the faith shown in him by boss Kit Symons.

The 23-year-old and the Whites gaffer have long since established a successful partnership working with the Wales national team, and Richards made his fourth appearance in five out in the 0-0 draw at Millwall on Saturday.

However, Symons admits he was close to a couple of new loans this week, but got let down at the last minute.

He is after an experienced striker and an extra midfielder, but injuries at other clubs dominoed back to Craven Cottage to further frustrate the man in charge.

“We pinpointed a couple of players and it fell through,” he said. “Ideally what we need is experience, and we got close, but at one club someone picked up an injury, and that’s just the way the loan system works.

“We’re looking to extend the deal for Jazz Richards. He’s done pretty well for us.”
