October continued to be a struggle for Fulham as they managed only their second win in ten games to move into mid table by the end of the month.

A 5-0 thrashing of Huddersfield Town was a highlight for the Cottagers, who started the month with a loss to local neighbours QPR at Craven Cottage.

The side were still finding their feet in the league and the smashing of Huddersfield was a turning point in the campaign where Fulham finally started to click and fire in the goals.

Here's how the month panned out.

October 1 - Fulham 1-2 QPR

Fulham suffered from yet another bout of penalty woes as both Tom Cairney and Sone Aluko missed penalties to ensure QPR went home with all three points.

Conor Washington gave the visitors the lead with a deflected shot before Tim Ream drilled Fulham back onto level terms straight after half time.

However, Idrissa Sylla headed QPR into the lead before Aluko missed his penalty, while Jozabed also hit the bar with a freekick in stoppage time.

October 15 - Barnsley 2-4 Fulham

The international break saw Fulham return to league action refreshed as they posted their first win at Barnsley since 1970.

Marley Watkins gave the hosts the lead before Lucas Piazon equalised, but Sam Winnall beat the offside trap to make it 2-1.

Sone Aluko equalised and then the visitors never looked back - Scott Malone put them in front before Chris Martin scored his first goal for the club before Josh Scowen was sent off for a stright red.

The win moved Fulham up to ninth in the table.

October 18 - Fulham 2-2 Norwich City

Another home tie and another without a victory, but Fulham showed grit to come from 2-0 down against then league toppers Norwich.

Graham Dorrans put Norwich ahead from the spot twice to give Norwich a 2-0 lead, before Stefan Johansen and Martin secured a point for Fulham.

After the game, Slavisa Jokanovic said: "What did I say at half-time? Nothing special, be professional and work together. Look to score one goal and after we can score more.

"We made big mistakes but after we went 2-0 down it was a better performance. We were more solid and started to play good football."

October 22 - Aston Villa 1-0 Fulham

Steve Bruce got his first home win as Villa manager as they beat Fulham 1-0 at Villa Park.

Jonathan Kodjia gave them the lead and the victory in the 80th minute with an acrobatic finish on the volley after Albert Adomah found him with his cross.

Michael Madl has Fulham's best chance, but he bundled wide at the far post.

October 29 - Fulham 5-0 Huddersfield Town

Perhaps the turning point in Fulham's season as a stunning display ensured they thrashed high-fliers Huddersfield at the Cottage.

Martin scored twice while Tomas Kalas, Piazon and McDonald all hit the back of the net as Huddersfield struggled to live with Jokanovic's side.

Fulham hadn't won at home since the opening day and Jokanovic was happy after the game, saying: "We and the supporters deserved that after waiting so long for a win. We have played well and got some points before but we couldn't find a clear way to win games."
