Brentford prevented west London rivals Fulham from completing a league double over them with a hard fought draw at Craven Cottage.

The Whites made a fast start and took the lead early on as Ryan Sessegnon got around the back of Josh Clarke and teed up Tom Cairney for the opener.

The Bees were been over-run but stayed in the contest and were back on level terms after some delightful football saw Nico Yennaris and Konstantin Kerschbaumer exchange a one-two with the former Arsenal man firing home to level the scores.

Fulham had a golden opportunity to take the lead just before half time when Yoann Barbet brought down Stefan Johansen in the penalty area.

Dan Bentley, though, made a superb save, low to his left, to save from Cairney before gathering the rebound.

Both sides tried to find a winner in the second half but the game petered out into a draw.

Below is how GetWestLondon rated the Bees players at the Cottage.

Daniel Bentley – A brilliant penalty save in the first half was followed up by a fingertip stop in the second. 9

Josh Clarke – Had a very difficult opening spell against Ryan Sessegnon but grew into the game and forced Slavisa Jokanovic to change tack on the hour mark. 8

Harlee Dean – A typical Harlee Dean performance from the captain. 7

Yoann Barbet – A silly foul for the penalty but, apart from that. Didn't put a foot wrong. 7

Tom Field – Grew into a difficult game after being overloaded in the opening stages. 7

Romaine Sawyers – Was the player Brentford were turning to at the start of the game when they were under the cosh. His poor clearance that led to Fulham's penalty was the only blot on his copybook. 7

Konstantin Kerschbaumer – Had a difficult start against Fulham's midfield three but his wonderful ball through to Yennaris made up for it. 7

Nico Yennaris – Some sloppy balls early on but a sublime equaliser put Brentford back into the contest. 8

Jota – Not at his most influential but did have some bright spells. 7

Lasse Vibe – Had some half chances that he created himself. Was isolated a lot of the time though. 7

Sergi Canos – The young Spaniard will know he's had better games. He wasn't allowed to get forward by Sone Aluko. 6

Substitutes

Florian Jozefzoon (for Sergi Canos 61) – Helped force Fulham back after they'd had a lot of joy against Canos. 7

Zain Westbrooke (for Konstantin Kerschbaumer 76) – What a time to make your debut! Worked hard to limit Fulham's prowess going forward. 6
