Chelsea FC's Frank Lampard says he'd rather be facing the hustle and bustle of Premiership action than a comfortable ride against Southend in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

The Blues dropped four points from a previously unblemished away record over the festive season in a frustrating Christmas campaign, and Lampard is keen to put it right.

Lampard said: "I'd rather play a league game to be honest. At [Fulham] it was frustrating to lose three points that were in the bag with five minutes to go, and I want to get back on that winning track in the league.

"Obviously Southend will be a different kind of game. They'll come with a big crowd, and its a different competition.

"But I'm hungry to win league games, and then the Premier League."
