Brentford goalkeeper Dan Bentley says he'd thrive off the role of being team captain, after getting a taste of it at Middlesbrough.

The stopper was handed the armband for the closing stages of the clash at the Riverside Stadium, and Bentley says it was 'a privilege' to be given the responsibility.

Speaking to the club's website, he said: "I’ve always tried to have that leadership skill in my game ever since I was young. It’s something that I wanted to grow up with and the captaincy is certainly a role which, if it was ever offered to me, I’d thrive off.

"John (Egan) is the captain and Nico (Yennaris) is the vice-captain which I’m fully respectful of; they’re both good pros and good lads and I get on with both of them extremely well. It was a great honour and a privilege to wear the armband for the first time in my career”.
