Two former Bees combined to send Brentford's development squad spinning to a 3-0 defeat last night.

Callum Willock was one of the scorers as a Staines Town signed managed by fellow former Brentford striker Marcus Gayle put the young Bees to the sword at Wheatsheaf Park.

Gayle, who is about to embark on his third season in charge of Staines, made more than 200 appearances in two spells for the Bees, between 1998-1994 and 2005-06, and is still fondly remembered at Griffin Park.

Willock, who signed for the Swans in January, was less of a success at the Bees, lasting just over a year after being brought in to replace DJ Campbell in the 2006 January transfer window, but managing just four goals.

While the young Bees were no match for Gayle's well drilled Conference South side, Brentford still hold bragging rights from the last time the two teams met.

Goals from Alan McCormack, Jake Reeves, Kadeem Harris, Marcello Trotta and Clayton Donaldson earned the Bees a 5-0 win when the two sides met in the FA Cup second round last November.
