There's always a timeline for the new football season - start of pre-season, start of the season, the transfer window shutting and, most importantly, the release of Football Manager.

And it's time to get excited for the latest instalment of the game, with Sports Interactive announcing Football Manager 2018 will be back to stop us from working and doing schoolwork in November.

Thank the footballing Gods!

As ever, we're looking forward to stepping into the shoes of Slavisa Jokanovic, Dean Smith and Ian Holloway and taking over Fulham, Brentford and QPR and seeing how we measure up to the managers - here's what we know so far about the new installment.

When is it out?

Football Manager 2018 will hit our computers on Friday November 10, but there will be a Beta version released a couple of weeks before that, so you can get started early.

The Touch and mobile versions also come out on the same date.

What is the cost this time?

The full game will set you back £37.99 (it may be cheaper if you look around though) while the touch version is £21.99.

I can't wait any longer, can I sign my life away and buy it now?

While we're all ready to sign our lives away to the monster that is FM18, you can only pre-purchase it at the moment, which you can do by clicking here .

Anyone who pre-purchases the game through an approved retailer will be able to access the Beta version and continue their career in the full game.

In addition, fans who pre-purchase Football Manager 2018 before Monday, October 9th and have Football Manager 2017 in their Steam Library will receive a 'Contract Extension Bonus' discount of 25% off their purchase via Steam or the SEGA Store. More information on that here .
