Chris Martin will definitely serve a three-game ban with immediate effect for loan club Fulham.

The Scotsman was shown a straight red card at Norwich City on Good Friday, a game Fulham went on to win 3-1.

The Whites lodged an appeal to the Football Association within 24 hours, but tonight they have announced Martin will serve a ban and have rejected the appeal.

A statement on the FA's website read: "Fulham striker Chris Martin’s will serve a three-match ban with immediate effect after his appeal for wrongful dismissal was turned down."

The striker, on loan from Derby County, has scored 11 goals for Slavisa Jokanovic's side this season.

As well as the Easter Monday game with Aston Villa, Martin will also miss games with Huddersfield Town and Brentford.

He will be available for selection on the final day of the season, in what is looking like a crunch game at Sheffield Wednesday for a play-off place.
