TONY Fernandes insists he will go ahead with building a new ground – regardless of which division QPR are in.
It was previously thought the club would only back the project as a top-flight outfit, but the chairman wants out of Loftus Road as soon as possible – although he has promised to stay in Hammersmith & Fulham if he can.
He said: “Wherever we go it will be somewhere fans believe is home – and there are a few sites in mind. It’s too sensitive to say where, but you’ve got to take a risk.
“There are League One sides with grounds bigger than Loftus Road, and we’ve got to build a better facility than this.
“If I can keep Rangers in Hammersmith and Fulham – I will. Will I keep QPR in this (west London) area? I guarantee you I will. There’s no point moving away. We’re not going to Milton Keynes."
