Neal Ardley reckons his boys put a bit of pride back in the AFC Wimbledon shirt following today’s FA Cup stalemate with York City.

Andy Frampton cancelled out Jake Hyde’s opener at Bootham Crescent to force a replay.

It was a much grittier performance from the one the Dons put in at Northampton seven days earlier and Ardley was pleased with the improvement.

He told BBC London: “Absolutely [I got a response]. When you’re as raw as we were, we have done a lot of talking this week about things we need to do better and the boys gave me everything I asked for today.

"I thought it was end to end. Conditions were conducive to FA Cup football. Both teams battled hard, both teams showed moments of real quality and I think a draw was a fair result in the end.

"We were brave and we didn’t try to shut up shop. When you have a bad week like last week and go down it’s tough and you need to show character. All in all we have put a little bit of pride back in the shirt but one game is not enough, we need to make sure we do more.”
