FORMER Manchester United frontman Ruud Van Nistelrooy has backed Fulham for Europa League glory.

The Hamburg hitman had never lost at Craven Cottage before last night, and had a prolific goalscoring record against the Whites, with 10 in nine games during his time at Old Trafford.

But the Dutchman was kept quiet by Brede Hangeland and Aaron Hughes as second-half strikes from Simon Davies and Zoltan Gera saw Roy Hodgson's side come from behind to set up a final against Atletico Madrid on May 12.

Van Nistelrooy was generous in defeat, and insists Fulham have the edge against the Spanish side.

He exclusively told the Fulham Chronicle : "Fulham have gone all the way to the final, now they can go and win it.

"They can beat anyone, that's what they have proved."
