Ross McCormack has been told for the second time by two different clubs he's a bit too pally with the sweet trolley.

Much derided and loathed Felix Magath claimed the ex- Fulham striker was overweight when he arrived at Craven Cottage in 2014, and made it even plainer when the German boss benched the £11m signing during his losing debut at Ipswich.

“He has a lack of fitness, said Magath at the time. "He did not have a pre-season with us. He is a striker and he has to score, but he is not on the level like the other players."

McCormack was 'embarrassed' to be told to lose a stone, but now his new boss at Aston Villa has said much the same thing.

Fulham boss: Felix Magath at Reading in his short-lived reign

The Mirror claims the out-of-sorts forward, who refused to stick with Fulham last summer, has been told by Villa boss Steve Bruce to lose the extra.

McCormack disputes he's overweight as he did when Magath piped up, but the Villa manager was adamant about the striker's attitude to training as well.

"McCormack was in the side for the last two league matches,” he said. “But unless his attitude to work changes I’m going to pick people who really want to turn up and play."
