Eden Hazard hopes he can hang onto his shooting boots after finally ending his scoring drought at Bournemouth.

The Chelsea playmaker had incredibly failed to find the net in the Premier League all season after claiming the PFA player of the year award last term.

He was thrown straight back into the starting XI at the Vitality Stadium having been sidelined for six weeks with a hip injury.

Guus Hiddink’s decision to reinstall him to the side proved a masterstoke as he bagged a brace in a morale-boosting 4-1 victory.

Hazard admitted he was relieved to to get back among the goals and hopes to kick on from here before signing off for the summer.

“It was a good performance today,” he told Sky Sports. “The boys did very well and we scored four good goals so deserved to win today.

“It was good to be back on the pitch and to score and then score again. I didn’t score in the Premier League before this season.

“I’m happy and I hope for the future I will be back. After two defeats we had to win again. We now have four games to play and to enjoy.”

Pedro opened the scoring for Chelsea before Hazard’s two goals came sandwiched either side of Willian goal as the visitors stormed to victory.

Boss Hiddink felt the three points were deserved and was pleased to see his side playing without the weight of the world on their shoulders.

“We are very pleased, especially second half,” he added. “The first half was very open. We played a team that are very good in building up.

“They have a very good build up of the game and they create chances. It was an entertaining game.

“We made some little changes in the positions at half time and I think we were very dominant in the second half.

“It was good to see some players who have been absent recently really enjoying it. We don’t want the season to fade away and the players responded very well.”
