Howard Hall says Earlsmead feels like second home after settling into life at Harrow Borough.

The Reds utility man, who is capable of playing in midfield or defence, knows all about the stadium from his time at Boro’s tenants Hendon. It has made life easier for the versatility player since joining on dual registration from St Albans at the end of September.

Hall, one of Harrow’s better performers in Saturday’s 3-1 loss to promotion hopefuls Dulwich Hamlet, says the transition has been seamless. “It feels like a second home,” he said.

“I was at Hendon when they were ground sharing with Wembley FC and I moved on when they came to groundshare here so I’m sure I would see a few familiar faces here around the ground.

“I was at St Albans and I played quite a few games last year and coming to the beginning of this season I didn’t get as many minutes as I wanted to so the gaffer told me to get some games.

“So Harrow came in for me and it is a good club, I’ve played against them many times over the years and it’s not too far to travel so I thought I would come in and help the boys do a job.”

Harrow are due to travel to Enfield Town on Saturday before taking on Leatherhead on Tuesday evening, depending on the outcome of their opponents FA Trophy tie this weekend.

Meanwhile, Hall’s former club Hendon remain third in the Ryman Premier after a 3-1 victory at Bury Town on Saturday. Kezie Ibe scored twice while Leon Smith was also on target for the Greens who saw their Robert Dyas Cup second round match at Enfield Town on Tuesday night postponed because of a waterlogged pitch. Hendon are in FA Trophy third qualifying round action on Saturday when they travel to Conference South outfit and then should a replay not be required take on London Bari in the London Senior Cup second round at Clapton FC.

Elsewhere, Wembley suffered a gut-wrenching exit from the FA Vase second round with a 4-3 defeat by Brantham Athletic after extra time. The match finished 2-2 in normal time with Yassine Fehmi-Gil giving the Lions a two-goal lead only to be pegged back in the last five minutes.

Wayne Walters then equalised for Wembley in the added 30 after Ian Bates’ side went behind for the first time but Brantham struck a winner with four minutes remaining.

The Lions, who saw their Challenge Trophy second round tie against Stotfold postponed because of a waterlogged pitch on Tuesday night, host Tring Athletic in the Spartan South Midlands Premier on Saturday.

Edgware Town were aiming to build on the weekend 2-1 win at Chesham United Reserves in Division One by reaching the Middlesex Premier Cup quarter-finals last night (Wednesday) at CB Hounslow United. Mahad Nur and Benjamin Hayford netted for Town, who visit Crawley Green on Saturday and Winslow United on Tuesday night, in the Chesham victory.

Rayners Lane reached the Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup third round at the weekend with a 2-0 win over Chalfont Wasps courtesy of goals from Jordan Robinson and Jamal Stewart.

Lane return to Hellenic Division One East action on Saturday at Didcot Town Reserves.
