MARK Hughes has handed Kieron Dyer the chance to prove his fitness at QPR.

The midfielder lasted just seven minutes of his Rs debut against Bolton on the opening day of the season before being stretchered off with a foot injury.

Dyer suffered a further setback when he was on his crocked on his comeback playing in a reserve game against Spurs in December, which ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.

However, new boss Hughes is ready to offer the 33-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, a Loftus Road lifeline.

He said: “We are hoping he will be fit and ready for pre-season and has the chance to make the 25-man squad.”
