QPR’S newest defender reminds his boss of former Everton stalwart David Unsworth .

But there will be no place in the first team for Serbian international Dusko Tosic until loan keeper Carl Ikeme goes back to Wolves next week.

Boss Neil Warnock reckons there will still be plenty of time to run the rule over the defender, who is the one Ranger headed for the World Cup this summer.

He said: "In the same way that David was compact, solid and dependable when he was at his peak in the 90s, it looks as if Dusko might have the same qualities.

"But the loan limitation kicks in as everybody knows, and it’s only when Carl goes back can we have room for another loanee."

Tosic played the entire reserve outing at Fulham on Wednesday to claim a 2-2 draw courtesy of goals from Josh Parker and Angelo Balanta .

Coach Keith Ryan told the QPR website : "Dusko got 90 minutes under his belt and showed what a good player he is and all in all, it was a thoroughly worthwhile exercise."
